What s the BIG Difference Between Prebiotics and Probiotics?

Most people are more aware of probiotics. No wonder why you are thinking that prebiotics  seems like a wrong spelling of probiotics. There really is a word “prebiotics” and this is different, though connected with probiotics.

Probiotics Defined

Probiotics are the so-called “good bacteria.” If there are harmful bacteria, there are also the bifidus, or the good bacteria. These are helpful in maintaining the balance in our stomach, thus, helping balance out our entire bodily functions as well.

You can get probiotics from yogurt and other cultured and soy-based food.

Prebiotics Defined

On the other hand, prebiotics are non-food elements that cannot be ingested. However, these can be helpful in repairing or enhancing the good bacteria, yes, the probiotics, inside the human’s body.

You can get more prebiotics by eating bananas and leeks. Getting more prebiotics does not actually mean getting more probiotics. But it will help in repairing the bacteria inside the body.

Now, which is better or more important—prebiotics or probiotics?

Actually, both of these are needed by your body so both are important. But which is better? Supplying your body with more good bacteria or just repairing the good bacteria inside your body?

According to a certain study, people who take more prebiotics have better health than those taking only probiotics. So now, you get the idea. Taking prebiotics is much more important and better than just taking probiotics.
